I used a 1/4" down cute and 1/8" straight cut for the two stage carve. Make note that the nominal thickness of my piece of walnut was .810". Adjust the working size to your material and also adjust the slit in the base plate to correspond to the base of the name plate.
Little confused by the Easel project. Is the name part supposed to be cut from the stock after its carved? How does it fit into the base as your material is .810 thick yet the groove in the base plate is only .5 wide. Do you have any more pictures on the completed project?

Will work on getting more pictures. I started off with one piece of 6x12x.75 stock. I cut the name portion and the portion tying the name to the base at once. The bottom piece of the name I milked down to .5”. I had the machine cut that from the piece that will become the base and cut the slot after

Steven, I noticed that your detail bit is 1/16th and your wood is 3/4 thick. how did you get the detail portion done? the bits that size will not cut through that thick of a material.

This was very cool and my first successful project! Adjusting for the limited bits and material I have was a great learning experience. Thank you.
