Surf inspired towel, hat, bag, coat, key rack.
The surf inspired rack is comprised of wooden fins as the hooks and a wooden surfboard shaped backboard.
The Easel file, is the basic rack, but many variations could be made, including individual hooks with different shaped miniature surfboards, or the tail of a surfboard with multiple fins.(Illustrations)
Maybe even the whole tail with a well positioned shark bite carved out as well.
The fins could be a simple ply or different woods glued together, before carving, to get a more aesthetic or artistic look.
The swirl carved out of the fin, is just an extra hanging point, possibly for car keys and bag straps, but also gives the fin a more unique look. I couldn’t do this with the original rack pictured, as I don’t have an x-carve.
Obviously once carved, the fins need to be sanded to gain the hydrofoil look and this also helps to expose the layers of a ply wood fin.
The fins need to be glued and screwed to the surfboard base piece, and if using wood, sealed as well, for outdoor or indoor use.
The racks could be made to varying sizes and materials for that matter, depending on their use, eg. Car keys, or towels.
