1. Add Design to Easel File

Add images, text etc to to the sides of the box. Be careful not to get to close to the edges since you still want the box to have strength. Measure thickness of the board you are using for the handle and change the the width of the rounded rectangles to match. Make sure when you make this modification doesn’t change the center of the holes. If you aren’t going to round over the handles or the box then remove the rounded corners.

2. Cut Out Pieces

60 minutes

Cut out all the pieces of the box out of 1/4" wood

Apply Finishing

100 minutes

I suggest painting prior to assembly of the box for ease. After you finish painting glue the box up. With the box together without a handle, use a round overbit on a router on all corners include the handle. This gives a much smoother feel to hold onto. Now glue up the handle and apply final stain/poly.

This is so cool. Love the design and simplicity of it. I have my machine on order and this is definitely one of the projects ill be doing.

You did awesome job on the bottle carrier. I was able to make the carrier fine But could not download the handle.

John the SVG for the handle is in the digital files. you need to import it to a file and pay attention to the stock that you cut it on to match the holes. I used 3/4" oak for mine.

Issues I'm having with the .SVG file for the handle: Open in Easel and it is only a fraction of the size it should be. Open in Fusion 360 is has the same problem. Open it in Inkscape and it appears normal but I can't modify it. Suggestions?

I was able to measure the design in Inkscape and it appears to be scaled down significantly. What scaling should be used to correct this? Any chance you could check the file and re-upload it?

Nevermind. It helps if you read everything first.

I downloaded the SVG file and I noticed the size of the handle was 0.7 X 0.7 once I made it bigger i could see it. What are the actual height and width of the Handel?

Apparently I didn't hit save on the share link to set it so public could see the file. See if it works now.

Hi Ed, Thanks for the great desing idea. I have a "silly" question. The material thickness is a bit over 1/4''. Is the 1/16'' bit able to cut through the whole material? it's 1/4''H. I'm from Spain and I work in mm, so 6,35 to 6,60 mm seems a bit too much for the bit to get to cut it.

Dear Ed, thanks for the great design! Any chance of getting also the bottom part in svg or dxf format? I do not like to use Easel... Thanks

Little confused, the instructions say to cut out all the pieces out of 1/4 wood but the Bill of materials lists only a 3/4 piece of red oak. I am assuming the 3/4 is for the handle only.

Was there a reason why tabs weren't installed? I only cut out one side and front to see how they fit. They did not fit. The interlocking tabs were too large. I would have to take a jig saw to trim each tab. What do you think happened? Please help! Thank you.
