This is a quick YouTube video I made that shows you how I built this project!

2

Downloading & Formatting the Templates

For this project, you need 3 SVG files to import into Easel. Once you’ve downloaded the templates, you’ll have to adjust the templates to fit your phone. In order to do so, you’ll need to measure the outside of your phone and you’ll also need to measure the size of the actual screen on your phone. The outside dimensions of the phone will go on the Middle Piece and the dimensions of your phone screen will go on the Front Piece. You’ll have to use a program that can edit SVG files such as Adobe Illustrator.

3

Selecting your Materials

Once you’ve adjusted the templates to fit your phone, you’ll be all set to select your material. I used 1/4" birch plywood on the Front and Back Piece. For the Middle Piece, I used 3/4" birch plywood because the width of my phone was just over 1/2" (when it’s in the case).

4

Carving out the Pieces

Once everything is set, you are ready to carve the pieces. You’ll want to import the SVG’s into Easel and from there, select your material and the bit size. I used a 1/8" bit for mine. Now that everything is set, you can carve away.

5

Sanding and Finishing

Once the pieces are carved out, you will want to sand each piece and glue them together with wood glue. After the glue dries, you’ll want to complete the rest of the sanding. Once you’re done sanding, you’re ready to apply a finish. I used Danish Oil because I like the way it pulls out the grain in the wood, but you can use whatever finish you’d like. Now that your finish is applied, you’re all done!
