General Information

Basically used stock Diresta plans from 1/4 sheet baltic birch. Initial cut had tabs fail, pieces lift, and jam xcarve, throwing it out of position. Was able to salvage all but the 10 ring pieces. By careful placement, was able to fit additional rings in scrap areas of plywood.

Preperation

10 minutes

Cut a 5×5 sheet of 1/2" baltic birch plywood in half, and the half again to end up with a 29 7/8 × 29 7/8 square. Secure on xCarve, ensuring material is square to the machine, I used hot melt glue this time. Be careful to secure plywood where C shaped pieces are located to prevent them from coming loose during carving.

Cut

150 minutes

Select Easel file and cut out parts.

Assemble

Assemble legs and seat, then turn upside down on work surface.
Apply glue to one face of C shaped pieces. Begin assembling them, overlapping ends and working around the stool, clamping as you go around.

Turn stool right side up, remove seat, apply glue to tenons and top edges of legs and re-install seat.

Allow to dry and then enjoy.
