This plaque has so many V-carves and inlays, that it is a bit difficult to give you all the step by step instructions for it. But if you will look at another project I designed,(a photo of which I included above)it actually has a step by step procedure displayed on it. These are basically the steps I used to generate this plaque. The plaque itself is from Quilted Maple with exotic hardwood inlays of Yellowheart, Bloodwood, Redheart and a couple of different Mahoganies. As my family is involved in music and tournament chess, I chose to inlay these images along with the hearts and pawns which I got from the Easel Pro library. Easel Pro also has a great editing feature which I have used many times in order to “tweak” the images a bit after I download them to my project page. What a great resource!
I want to add that I am not a professional woodworker as I have not sold any of my work. The dozens of plaques and furniture which I have produced with my X-Carve over the last few years have either been given away to family and friends or kept by us. It’s a fantastic hobby! The technology is just amazing!
