I Actually found a free piano on craigslist that was walnut. And so I chopped it up. I just grabbed some pieces and ran em through the bandsaw and drum sander until i got enough for a 4×8x 1.25" thick. I make it about a sixteenth thicker to allow for a clean cut without tabs. then just run it through the drum sander. I use double sideded tape for the hold down two strips on the edge and one down the center.(lengthwise). I used my stewmac 8th in 2flt spiral upcut solid carbide. It is in the inlay bits section on stewmac. I have the dewalt 611 and had to buy a separate collet for the 8th inch shank. As well the stock is very thick. I held the bit and router right next to the stock before tightening the bit into the router. To ensure avoiding collision with router collet once lower into the stock!!!. Hope there are some luthiers out there that can use this. ive seen quite alot of cnc Electric guitars online. I assume for ease of making obviously. I am working on an acoustic neck file right now in Fusion 360. 14 fret. Hope to post soon!. Cheers All!
