General Information

This is a festive, Christmas wall art piece made from scrap pallet wood. It’s 8″ × 12″ but you can easily scale it up or down to any size you like. I expect the price point for this (here in Downeast Maine) to be somewhere around $35.00 to $40.00.

1

Glue -up

Glue up pallet wood boards of even/uniform thickness to achieve a surface area larger than 8″ × 12″ (trim later). Alternatively, you can use plywood instead & skip the glue-up.

2

Lots of Sanding!

Sand surfaces to your desired finish.

3

Trimming

5 minutes

Trim to final size of 8″ × 12″

4

Carve!

40 minutes

Clamp wood on your X-Carve waste board, set up the Easel files, etc. and “let ’er rip.” Go get a cup of coffee and come back in a few minutes.

5

Clean and paint

30 minutes

Clean up any “fuzzies,” blow off sawdust and paint as desired. Finish sand and clear coat.

6

Optional

glue some border strips around edges, and add some sort of picture hanging hardware on back – you’re then good to go. Add this piece to your craft show inventory or hang it on your wall (in season).
